      \n\t\t\t\t\t\tThe National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women\u2019s service organization dedicated to preserving American history, securing America\u2019s future through better education, and promoting patriotism. The Fort Christmas Chapter is one of more than 3,000 chapters across the country and one of the more than 100 located throughout the state of Florida.\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

      \n\t\t\t\t\t\tOrigin of Our Chapter Name\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/h1>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

      \n\t\t\t\t\t\tDuring the Second Seminole War, a force of 2,000 U.S. Army soldiers and Alabama volunteers arrived in what is now East Orange County on December 25, 1837. The aptly named Fort Christmas was constructed within a few miles of the present-day Fort Christmas Historical Park. The fort was one of over 200 forts built from 1835-1842 during the Second Seminole War. Today, the replica of the fort shares the park with a collection of historic buildings, including a school house and the homes of several of the early settlers of the Christmas area. \t\t\t\t\t\t<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
