{"id":110,"date":"2017-02-28T21:47:32","date_gmt":"2017-02-28T21:47:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fssdar.com\/HickoryBluff\/?page_id=110"},"modified":"2025-11-15T09:14:36","modified_gmt":"2025-11-15T14:14:36","slug":"membership","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/fssdar.com\/HickoryBluff\/membership\/","title":{"rendered":"Membership"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>How to become a member of the Hickory Bluff Chapter<\/strong>, NSDAR<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Please contact our&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:registrar@hickorybluff.net\">Chapter Registrar<\/a>&nbsp;for questions about membership.&nbsp;Alternatively, you can fill out our&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/fssdar.com\/HickoryBluff\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Prospective-Member-Form.pdf\">Hickory Bluff Prospective Member form<\/a>, save it, and attach the saved copy in an email to our&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:Registrar@hickorybluff.net\">Chapter Registrar.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>Eligibility for Membership<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">If you are over 17 years of age, have a birth certificate that states your gender as female, and can prove that you are a direct descendant from a person who contributed to securing American independence, you are eligible to join the DAR.&nbsp; It is not just relatives of soldiers who qualify; DAR lists a broad range of activities that helped achieve our independence. To view this list, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dar.org\/national-society\/accepted-revolutionary-war-service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>ACCEPTED REVOLUTIONARY WAR SERVICE<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;on the NSDAR website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">You must be able to provide documentation proving you are a descendant of this ancestor. This will include documentation of birth, marriage, and death of your ancestors and a record of Revolutionary War service.&nbsp; Our Chapter Registrar will work with you to obtain and assemble this documentation for your DAR application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>Why Join?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Joining the DAR allows you to honor your patriot ancestor by continuing to serve our county and promote patriotism through a wide range of volunteer activities. DAR\u2019s mission is to actively support historic preservation, promotion of education, and patriotic endeavors.
