The quickest and easiest way to find out if someone has registered your patriot – and joined DAR – is to do an online search of the DAR database. If you don’t find your ancestor in our National database, that does not mean he or she did not serve – it just means no ancestor has documented their service through DAR – which gives you the honor of being the first to do so.

The registration process can seem a bit daunting, but do not despair. You are not alone.
