Organize, advocate, promote and coordinate celebration planning for the nation’s 250th anniversary.

American Heritage
Encourage members to preserve our American heritage by creating works in the fields of art and sculpture, crafts, drama and literature, fiber arts, and music.

American History
Promote American history throughout the year by honoring significant historical people, places, dates, and events. Conduct the History Essay Contest.

Americanism
Oversees the approval process for the DAR Medal of Honor and the DAR Americanism Medal and encourages DAR members to become involved in their local naturalization process and assist new immigrants with citizenship.

Bylaws
Review current bylaws and revise as necessary.

Children of the American Revolution
Promote the work and principles of CAR and its work and activities. Reports CAR activities to the Chapter.

Commemorative Events
Celebrate the events cited by the National Society, to identify and plan local and regional commemorative events, and to join in celebrations that support the goals of the Society.

Community Classroom
Provide additional support to teachers and children in classrooms and schools in their own communities throughout the nation.

Conservation
Focus on protecting and conserving our natural resources

Constitution Week
Encourage study of and educate the public about the Constitution

DAR Good Citizens
Work with schools to select high school seniors to be awarded the DAR Good Citizens. This award recognizes qualities of good citizenship in their homes, schools, and communities. Encourage winners to enter DAR Good Citizens Scholarship Contest.

DAR Magazine
Support magazine awareness, handout magazines and subscription forms to help educate members.

DAR Museum Outreach
Collecting, preserving, exhibiting, and interpreting the material culture and social history of pre-industrial America.

DAR Project Patriot
Work with State Chair to coordinate DAR approved projects and bring information to the chapter so we can support active military women and men.

DAR Service for Veterans
Support all veterans, including those in hospitals, nursing homes, and the homeless.

Flag of the United States
Promote a deep patriotic sense of respect for our flag.

Historic Preservation
Develop ways to honor the nation’s heritage, focus on the future, and celebrate America..

Insignia
Provide guidelines to the members regarding all facets of DAR insignia protocol.

Junior American Citizens
Promote good citizenship and appreciation of American heritage and history for every child in the United States, ages preschool to grade 12.

Lineage Research
Provide assistance with lineage research needs of prospective members

Membership
Help new members get engaged in the Chapter. Assist in recruitment and retention of members.

Service to America
Capture the magnitude of service hours that Daughters regularly provide in our communities.

Compile articles, photos and news into a document to be emailed and printed for distribution to members.

Inform members about the purchase and laying of wreaths at local cemeteries and the National Cemetery of Sarasota.

Create a yearly membership directory and information booklet for the Chapter and State Officers.
