Scholarships
The Florida State Society DAR is pleased to offer Post-secondary awards of $2,500. One award will be reserved for a DAR member continuing education and whose primary chapter is a Florida chapter. A second award will be reserved for an accepted applicant to an accredited trade school or training academy. If either of these reserved awards is not granted, the funds will be used for a general scholarship.
Additional FSSDAR Scholarship Opportunities available:
- A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded for nursing through the Janet Ryan Nursing Scholarship.
- A medical/health science scholarship is available through the Edith Wright Harley Medical Scholarship through the University of South Florida. Applications may be made directly through the University of South Florida Medical School.
- The Ann Wood FSSDAR American Indian Endowment Fund Scholarship is available through the American
Indians Committee. Eligibility for this scholarship does not require Florida residency.
Applicants will work through their respective chapter for sponsorship. Applicants will submit an application form along with financial need information. Awards are for U.S. Citizens who are Florida residents, except as noted above, with a minimum of a 3.6 overall grade point average (GPA).
