Scholarships

As one of the three objectives of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), education is an important component of the DAR mission. The purpose of the scholarship committee is to provide ways and means to aid worthy students to attain a higher education. Awards are made through the Florida State Society Scholarship Committee. Florida State Society DAR General Scholarships: Awards made annually to students entering or enrolled in an accredited college or university. Applicants must be citizens of the United States, Florida residents, and sponsored by a local Florida DAR Chapter.

Edith Wright Hartley Medical Scholarship Fund: This scholarship is available annually to be awarded to graduate students doing medical research at the University of South Florida Medical School who meet criteria established by a university committee and representatives the University.

American Indian Scholarship: A scholarship award is to be given to a Florida Native American. Deadline is May 1. Applicants must be enrolled members of a Native American tribe, recognized at the federal or state level, and Florida residents.

Janet Ryan Memorial Nursing Scholarship: A scholarship award is given to a Florida resident student entering or enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
