Meetings and Membership

The Alafia River Chapter NSDAR meets on the first Thursday of the month, September through May, at 6:30 p.m. in Brandon, Florida. We offer light snacks, have an informative guest speaker, welcome new members to the chapter, and conduct our business meeting. DAR is a women’s service organization dedicated to promoting historic preservation, education, patriotism and honoring the patriots of the American Revolutionary War. DAR members provide millions of hours of community service each year around the world. Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible to join.
