The chapter is a proud supporter of Manatee County History Day, Manatee Veteran’s Council, Wreaths Across America, DAR Schools, JROTC, Southeastern Guide Dogs, and Anna Maria Island Turtle Watch. We also support our active military through various DAR programs. In 2024, we donated 30 books on the American Revolutionary War period to a new public library in honor of America’s upcoming 250th birthday, and celebrated the grand opening.
We contribute genealogy books in the name of our deceased members to a Library genealogy department. We also provide a scholarship to a Manatee County High School senior each year.
We join with the Manasota Regents’ Council for Flag Day in June and Constitution Week in September.
Our monthly meetings include interesting and educational programs that focus on local and/or state history, historical events, Flag of the United States, Women’s History, Veterans issues, Conservation, DAR supported programs, or other community efforts, all in support of our goals of encouraging historic preservation, patriotism, and education.
