Osceola is a proud supporter of Manatee County History Day, Manatee Veterans Council, Wreaths Across America, Flag Day, Constitution Day, DAR Schools, JROTC, Anna Maria Island Turtle Watch, and Dogs, Inc. (formerly Southeastern Guide Dogs), as well as many other community projects.
We’ve contributed one or more genealogy books or donations in the honor of our deceased members to a Library genealogy department. We’ve donated library books in honor of America’s upcoming 250th birthday. We’ve participated in cemetery cleanings and perform service on our annual day of service in October. Our recent service project was building Vertical Oyster Gardens, a conservation effort to help clean our bays.
Osceola Chapter presents a scholarship annually to one high school student in Manatee County.
Our conservation program currently supports Anna Maria Island Turtle Watch, and we have adopted turtle nests since 2018. Several of our members were lucky to see a new turtle laying her eggs while our nest was being checked. We love being Turtle Moms!
