What We Do

The chapter is a proud supporter of Manatee Village Historical Park,  Manatee County History Day, Manatee Veteran’s Village, Manatee Veteran’s Council, Wreaths Across America, DAR Schools, JROTC,  Southeastern Guide Dogs, and Anna Maria Island Turtle Watch.  We also support our active military through various DAR programs.

We contribute genealogy books in the name of each deceased member to the Manatee County Library genealogy department and provide a scholarship to a Manatee County High School senior each year from one of our four supported High Schools – Lakewood Ranch, Braden River, Manatee, and Parrish.

We join with the Manasota Regents’ Council in for Flag Day in June and Constitution Day in September.

Our monthly meetings include educational programs that focus on local and state history, Flag of the United States, Women’s History, Veterans issues, or other community efforts, all in support of our goals of encouraging historic preservation, patriotism, and education.
